From Dr. Angie Moe, Sociology
Friends & Colleagues,
Please share the poster above announcing a public screening effort being spearheaded by WMU Trustee Mary Asmonga-Knapp and myself. The Invisible War is an Oscar nominated feature-length documentary on sexual assault within US military ranks.
Trustee Knapp and I are bringing this film to Kalamazoo in commemoration of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The screening will begin at 6:30 (doors open at 6:00) on Monday, April 15 at WMU’s Little Theatre. It is completely free (including parking) and open to the public. There will be refreshments, informational displays and literature in the lobby, as well as onsite counselors available throughout the evening. The film will be followed by a panel discussion with individuals with personal and professional experience in the area.
Please help spread the word about this important event. If you are willing to hang a few posters in your workplace or other areas of the community, please let me know and I will get you as many as you like.
Angie
